SECURITY OFFICER

The Security Officer is a part of a team of Security Professionals whose responsibilities are to watch over and protect BSI property against various threats. This includes static, patrol, and escort security functions within BSI. The Security Officer must be able to obtain certification in ISPS Code and other port regulations.

Qualifications and Experience:

· High School Diploma

· Security, Police, or Military background and or equivalent skills

· Must have a valid Class A Driver’s License.

· Be physically fit and able to stand long hours in austere conditions

· Be able to operate standard transmission and 4x4 type off-road vehicles

· Must be able to carry and use firearms during the course of their duties

Skills and Competencies:

· Excellent communication skills and ability to do report writing

· Excellent computer skills specifically, Microsoft Suite and internet literacy

· Versed with smart phones, PS, and camera technology

· Ability to adapt to new technologies

· Interpersonal skills to work effectively in a team environment

· Fluency in English and Spanish would be an asset

Roles and Responsibilities:

· Implement/Enforce Access Control Procedures at the Entry Control Points (ECPs)

· Conduct patrols to ensure the well-being of employees and protect BSI’s assets within the Port of Big Creek

· Report to assigned post and perform all duties diligently

· Respond/Report to all accidents/incidents that affect the company

· Perform any other assigned duties

· Ensure that employees adhere to all Safety and Quality Absolutes
