Mechanical Apprentice

The Mechanical Apprentice program includes an extensive two-year training curriculum that precedes certification as a mechanic. This position will undergo training in all facets of Machine Shop practices and the fundamentals of Mechanical Systems (series 100).

 Qualifications and Experience:

  • Associate’s Degree with major in Math or Physics

 Skills and Competencies: 

  • Proficient in computer applications

  • Highly self-motivated with a strong willingness to acquire new skills

  • Possess foundational understanding of mechanical tools and equipment

  • Demonstrates a solid mechanical aptitude and effective problem-solving abilities

  • Capable of adhering to instructions and collaborating effectively within a team environment

  • Exhibits good physical endurance and the capacity to lift substantial weights

 Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Complete a course from TPC in Fundamentals (Series 100), within one year.

  • Train in Machine Shop operations, in mechanical operations and equipment repairs throughout the plant,

  • Assist as is required in assembling, maintaining and repairing mechanical systems, machines and equipment,

  • Learn to use tools, machinery and diagnostics equipment safely and efficiently

  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints and manuals
