Mechanical Apprentice
The Mechanical Apprentice program includes an extensive two-year training curriculum that precedes certification as a mechanic. This position will undergo training in all facets of Machine Shop practices and the fundamentals of Mechanical Systems (series 100).
Qualifications and Experience:
Associate’s Degree with major in Math or Physics
Skills and Competencies:
Proficient in computer applications
Highly self-motivated with a strong willingness to acquire new skills
Possess foundational understanding of mechanical tools and equipment
Demonstrates a solid mechanical aptitude and effective problem-solving abilities
Capable of adhering to instructions and collaborating effectively within a team environment
Exhibits good physical endurance and the capacity to lift substantial weights
Roles and Responsibilities:
Complete a course from TPC in Fundamentals (Series 100), within one year.
Train in Machine Shop operations, in mechanical operations and equipment repairs throughout the plant,
Assist as is required in assembling, maintaining and repairing mechanical systems, machines and equipment,
Learn to use tools, machinery and diagnostics equipment safely and efficiently
Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints and manuals
