Industrial Mechanic

The position of Industrial Mechanic will be a permanent hourly employee within the Industrial Operations- Boiling House area and will be responsible for mechanical work on equipment.

 Qualifications and Experience:

  • Tertiary level degree with Math or Physics major preferred

  • Minimum requirements are high school diploma with at least two (2) years’ experience working as an Industrial Mechanic

 Skills and Competencies: 

  • Knowledge of proper tool applications and usage

  • Computer literate

  • Self-motivated and independent

  • Mechanically inclined and curious

  • Willing to learn and be trained in necessary additional skills

  • Team player

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance on a regular basis

  • Excellent verbal communication skills in English

  • Good vision and physical dexterity

  • Flexible with working hours (Holidays and overtime as requested by Supervisor)

 Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Inspect, maintain, and repair industrial equipment and machinery (such as pumps, gearboxes, chain drives, conveyors, etc.) to ensure they are always in proper working order

  • Able to locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation

  • Dismantling and reassembly of machinery to provide identification and removal of defective parts from the machinery

  • Provide preventative maintenance for machinery and equipment by providing periodic cleaning, adjustment of parts, lubrication of moving components as needed to ensure proper and efficient function

  • Record all maintenance and repair services performed and keep track of all materials and parts used during the repair process

  • Study manufacturer manuals and blueprints and carefully follow directions when operating or setting up machinery

  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations, factory safety and quality guidelines

  • Take proper care of assigned tools and equipment.

  • Position has expectation to be on call-in standby for unplanned and unscheduled emergency repairs that may be required at the plant as determined by superiors or engineers.

  • Any other tasks as assigned by the Supervisor
