Head Cook

The Head Cook will be responsible for planning, preparing, and overseeing the preparation of high-quality meals. Must ensure culinary excellence, menu variety, and strict adherence to food safety and hygiene standards. Well-experienced in cooking and delivering professional and welcoming dining experiences.

 Qualifications and Experience:

  • Diploma/Certificate in Culinary Arts, hospitality, or equivalent professional training

  • Proven experience as a head Cook, chef, or equivalent role in a hotel or fine dining environment

  • Strong knowledge of international cuisines, menu planning, and presentation standards would be an asset

 Skills and Competencies:  

  • Excellent leadership and supervisory skills.

  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP preferred).

  • Ability to adapt to changing schedules and special requests.

  • Professional demeanor with high standards of confidentiality.

  • Be detail-oriented and creative with new recipes and pastries.

  • Be service oriented, with excellent communication skills.

  • Be a good team player and able to work under pressure while maintaining quality and composure.

 Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Plan, design, and prepare diverse menus – Belizean, international, Mexican food, etc., tailored to the preferences of the visitors at any specific time

  • Prepare meals of consistent quality, presentation, and timeliness for daily dining and special events

  • Supervise kitchen staff, ensuring tasks are performed efficiently and up to standard 

  • Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and food safety in the kitchen and dining areas

  • Cater to dietary restrictions and cultural food preferences of the guests

  • Collaborate with the Housing Site Administrator to ensure that breakfast, lunch, and dinner are prepared on schedule for all guests staying at the Guest House

  • Monitor kitchen equipment to ensure good working order and report any need for repairs or replacement

  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in interactions with executives and dignitaries

  • Any other tasks or duties as assigned by the Supervisor
