Head Cook
The Head Cook will be responsible for planning, preparing, and overseeing the preparation of high-quality meals. Must ensure culinary excellence, menu variety, and strict adherence to food safety and hygiene standards. Well-experienced in cooking and delivering professional and welcoming dining experiences.
Qualifications and Experience:
Diploma/Certificate in Culinary Arts, hospitality, or equivalent professional training
Proven experience as a head Cook, chef, or equivalent role in a hotel or fine dining environment
Strong knowledge of international cuisines, menu planning, and presentation standards would be an asset
Skills and Competencies:
Excellent leadership and supervisory skills.
Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP preferred).
Ability to adapt to changing schedules and special requests.
Professional demeanor with high standards of confidentiality.
Be detail-oriented and creative with new recipes and pastries.
Be service oriented, with excellent communication skills.
Be a good team player and able to work under pressure while maintaining quality and composure.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Plan, design, and prepare diverse menus – Belizean, international, Mexican food, etc., tailored to the preferences of the visitors at any specific time
Prepare meals of consistent quality, presentation, and timeliness for daily dining and special events
Supervise kitchen staff, ensuring tasks are performed efficiently and up to standard
Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and food safety in the kitchen and dining areas
Cater to dietary restrictions and cultural food preferences of the guests
Collaborate with the Housing Site Administrator to ensure that breakfast, lunch, and dinner are prepared on schedule for all guests staying at the Guest House
Monitor kitchen equipment to ensure good working order and report any need for repairs or replacement
Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in interactions with executives and dignitaries
Any other tasks or duties as assigned by the Supervisor
