Chemical Engineer Trainee
The responsibility of the Chemical Engineer Trainee will be to provide support to the engineering and production department and assist in the development of processes that will maximize stewardship, safety, quality, and productivity.
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor of Science or Degree in Chemical Engineering
National Higher Diploma in Chemical Engineering (Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry is acceptable)
Skills and Competencies:
Excellent written & communication skills
High proficiency in computer and computer systems
Highly motivated
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and standards
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
Team-oriented/possesses interpersonal skills
Roles and Responsibilities:
Collect data required to make improvements and modifications
Oversee the construction of new projects
Develop process simulation software to work out the best production methods
Assist in the purchasing and installation of equipment
Assist in supervising the milling plant operations
Investigating and troubleshooting plant/process problems
Assist in scheduling and coordinating activities to adhere to stringent deadlines and within established financial budgets
Ensuring that equipment functions to its specification and to the appropriate capacities
Ensure safe working conditions and compliance with health and safety policies
Participate in customer technical and quality reviews
Any other tasks or duties as assigned by the Supervisor
