Boiler Operator

The Boiler Operator monitors and operates systems and equipment in accordance with the standard operating procedures. This position will operate, inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot all generation plant steam and combustion turbines, generating and auxiliary equipment, fuel storage and ash handling facilities.

 Qualifications and Experience:

  • Associate degree in Chemistry, Physics, or related field

 Skills and Competencies: 

  • Excellent written & communication skills 

  • Team oriented/ possess interpersonal skills                            

  • Computer literate (Microsoft Suite)   

  • Able to work in indoor/outdoor working conditions that requires continuous physical activity

  • Able to work flexible hours (shifts, weekends, & Holidays)

  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines

 Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Operate system, equipment, and components during start-up, running, shutdown and standby mode in accordance with standard operating procedures

  • Isolate and restore system, equipment and components strictly adhering to the work scope and applicable permit procedures and practices

  • Use computer systems to monitor work backlog and input work order data

  • Work in accordance with quality control and assurance procedures

  • Comply with the EHS department in accordance with the Company’s safety policies

  • Perform operational, diagnostic, and analytical functions on systems, equipment, and components

  • Responsible for data collection and maintaining proper logs

  • Maintain communication with Supervisors and updates on abnormal conditions and takes steps to troubleshoot equipment on conditions found

  • Any other tasks or duties as assigned by the Shift Supervisor
