Electrical/Mechanical Technician

The Electrical/Mechanical Technician will provide effective maintenance, installation, and upkeep of the electrical equipment at our Big Creek location. The Electrical/Mechanical Technician will also implement industrial best practices with Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) activities and comply with the company’s Environmental, Health, and Safety policies

 Qualifications and Experience:

  • Associate degree or ITVET Certificate in a related field

  • Minimum 5 years experience

  • Valid driver’s license

  • Public Utility Commission (PUC) License

  • Technical problem-solving skills

  • Organize all equipment/tools.

  • Work as a team member

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Install, service, and maintain the following equipment in good operational conditions:

    o   Three-phase, single-phase, low voltage, and medium voltage, AC, DC equipment on site

    o   Electrical Motors, Motor Control Center, Switchboards

    o   Variable Frequency Drives and Soft Starters

    o   Lighting Systems

    o   All electrical cables, cable trays

    o   Electric Generators

    o   Programmable Logic Controllers and control circuits

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and install electrical circuits, electromechanical machinery, and PLC Circuits using available testing equipment (DLRO, IR Tester, DMM, Process Meter, Growler)

  • Perform electrical installations as per local code and NEC

  • Work with limited supervision and be able to meet targets, execute maintenance programs and practices as indicated by the Supervisor/Engineer; Keep detailed work and maintenance records also, prepare written reports

  • Prepare cost-effective material lists for assigned projects, tasks, and assignments; Recommend replacement of parts for electrical equipment when needed

  • Ability to work with ladders, scaffolds, electrical power tools, lifting equipment, on rooftops to install, maintain, or repair wiring, equipment, fixtures, etc.

  • Any other tasks assigned by the Supervisor
